Prof. Pengpeng Ni

Biography:
Pengpeng Ni is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University. he holds a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from Queen's University in Canada, where he studied under Ian D. Moore, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and W. Andy Take, the Chief Scientist in Geotechnical Engineering in Canada. In recent years, his research has focused on the design and safety assessment of major infrastructure projects in the field of geotechnical engineering, achieving significant results in soil-structure interaction related to pipeline engineering, tunnel engineering, and foundation engineering. He has published over 100 academic papers in prestigious international journals, including *Géotechnique*, *Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering*, *Canadian Geotechnical Journal*, and *Soils and Foundations*. he also serves as the associate editor for *Geotechnical and Geological Engineering* and *International Journal of Geotechnical Engineering*, and is on the editorial board of *Geotextiles and Geomembranes*. Prof. Ni has been recognized in Stanford University's 2023 and 2024 "Top 2% of Scientists Worldwide" list.
